How I Spent My Summer Vacation
Mike’s Version
Sunday.
Beep..... Beep.....Beep........ Michelle it's time to get up. These were the
words that ushered in the first stage of my Jedi Training. When we were both up
we ate our nutrient rich Coco-Puffs (off brand of course). After that was teeth
brushing and not much later Jedi Master Kheris was here in her red Saturn. We
packed our things into the trunk and went on our way. On the way we listened to
a variety of music. When we finally arrived in the windy city of Chicago we took
the long way around to her Masters apartment so that we could take in a larger
look at the city. We arrived at the Jedi Master’s chambers parked and while she
took the elevator, from the fifth floor on the
parking garage, we were forced to take all of our bags up the stairs to the
eighteenth floor. No not really, we all took the elevator and Jedi Master Kheris
even took our pillows. After we dropped off our things in the apartment we made
our way to the Taste of Chicago. We went around got a pop
and Michelle and I got some pizza after which we ate and looked at Buckingham
Fountain. Then we went about looking for a Greek place for Auntie. When this
task was completed we got some ice cream we made our way to Navy Pier. We looked
around Navy Pier saw a Statue of Liberty look-alike contest, and then before
going back to the apartment we took a ride on the Ferris Wheel. After which we
go to the store and then made our way back to the apartment. Our trio then went
to the best pizza place in town, (as far as I am concerned) Giordano's, the
events after which are inconsequential until the maiden voyage of Jedi Master
Kheris' VHS of The Wizard of OZ.
Monday.
When we awaken we eat omelets made by none other than Volrath. The weather was
not being to nice to us .We then took our CTA transport to the Shedd Aquarium
and took our time looking at and photographing the sea critters. The highlight
of that being the giant fishies that I don't know the name of. We were running
short on film so decided to go to the Adler Planetarium and
Astronomy Museum instead of Field Museum. By the time we were done in the
aquarium the weather had turned around and the sun was shining. We went and
looked around in the planetarium. We saw two movies the second, Sky Watchers of
Africa being the better. In the first, Alien Encounters, the only highlight
besides cool graphics and some interesting thoughts of what life would be like
on other planets was the game they had before the movie which everyone could
have a box of their own to control from their seat. The control was just a set
of arrows that made a box on the screen turn to avoid being frozen by a flying
ball. The highlight, in just the museum, not including the movies, was the
revolving ball we went in which used to be used to train Navy personnel. We took
a trolley home and by the way Michelle was "Spooked" by the driver. (Dull
boringness). Return of the Jedi. (Dull boringness).
Tuesday.
We are roused by the Jedi Master, roll out of our sleeping status, and eat
breakfast. After we have consumed our morning meal we leave and head for the
Field Museum. After our meeting Sue and exploring the museum for most of the day
we go to the SPRINT store to get a new battery for the Jedi Master’s cell phone
since she used the dark arts to kill hers. After that we went and got Chinese
for dinner. On our way to dinner we pass the Bentley dealership,
which had many GREAT cars which I cannot spell. After dinner our day was over.
Wednesday.
We get up and walk to the zoo it was a normal zoo day and there were no
highlights since the gorillas had been moved so that a new facility could be
built. We went to the farm across the street and then caught a bus to the John
Hancock. We were zoomed up to the observatory and took in the view. When we had
the view taken in we were zoomed back down and went to the
Cheesecake Factory. Michelle and I both got the same thing, the Barbeque Bacon
Burger. That was the biggest burger I've ever seen. Michelle and I both got
cheesecake and then we all went home. We went back to the apartment for a while,
went swimming, and then to Lawry's for dinner. The prime rib was fine but
nothing REALLY special. This was our last night in the windy
city.
Thursday.
We drive home and have a merry sing along to the song Yellow Submarine. I slept
through Ohio and we were home. The first segment of training was over. I am
bummed. And that is the end of my wonderful training. So now I am stronger in
the ways of the light side, and I will soon have my saber and my training will
be complete.
